Chief Executive Officer
Paige Bottom joined Iron Bridge in August 2023 and brings a strong commitment to the belief that recovery is possible for everyone. Her continued inspiration comes from seeing so many lives changed through this rewarding work and the collaboration of all who make it possible. Having started her career over 25 years ago, working with adolescents with both mental health and substance abuse issues, Paige has remained dedicated to providing an environment of healing and wellness for those on the path to recovery. In a world where stigma and misunderstanding can create barriers to treatment and recovery, Paige has worked tirelessly to create programs and teams that provide a welcoming and healing environment, focusing on inclusion, clinical excellence, and trauma-informed treatment. Paige has served in the role of CEO for many exceptional programs in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and California, coming full circle back to Virginia and Iron Bridge.
Dr. Nadine Thompson-Carlton
Dr. Nadine Thompson-Carlton
Medical Director
Dr. Thompson-Carlton is a board-certified physician specializing in addiction medicine and emergency medicine. She obtained her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed residency at East Carolina University. Her initial practice in emergency medicine has led her to the field of addiction. While working in the Emergency Department, Dr. Thompson-Carlton witnessed the lack of resources and challenges faced by those suffering with substance use disorder. Her empathy, compassion, and need for a better understanding of the disease led her to pursue a certification in addiction medicine. Dr. Thompson recognizes that substance use disorder is a treatable mental health disorder that negatively affects a person’s physical and behavioral health. For this reason, she understands the importance of utilizing various forms of therapy as well as medication-assisted treatment. She is a strong advocate for her patients and takes pride in guiding them through their recovery. She enjoys working at Iron Bridge because the program is a close-knit community with a patient-centered treatment team. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Thompson-Carlton enjoys camping, fishing, and traveling.

Ashley Jones
Director of Nursing
Ashley Jones is currently serving as Director of Nursing for the Iron Bridge Recovery Center. She was previously a nurse manager at Chippenham Hospital. Her knowledge and experience across a variety of healthcare settings allows her to lead the team with confidence. She is an extremely talented leader with a dedicated approach to leadership. She is also passionate about the field of addiction treatment and is an advocate for her patients.

Director of Human Resources
Tonia Williams is currently serving in the position of Director of Human Resources for Iron Bridge Recovery Center. Tonia has twenty-three years of experience in Human Resources and Operations and is still growing. The past twelve years have been in healthcare settings in a leadership role. She is dedicated to the field of addiction treatment, and often volunteers in the community to serve and support.

Director of Clinical Services
Sdhari King attained her M.S.W. from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is currently working towards attaining her DSW from Barry University. Most of her career has been in direct practice, providing or supervising mental health services. She has worked in intensive services which would include community mental health, PACT/ACT services, homeless services, crisis services, and court-ordered substance abuse programming. “Working and/or supervising those programs was challenging, but I found the work rewarding. I also have experience working in a Medicaid-managed care organization. I enjoy giving back to the social work profession by serving as an adjunction instructor at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am thrilled to join Iron Bridge Recovery Center as the Director of Clinical Services. It is a unique honor to be apart of a person’s recovery journey.”

April Barrow received her master’s degree in human services from Walden University and her bachelor’s degree in human services from the University of Phoenix. She entered into the industry to help address the significant impact mental health/substance abuse issues can have on individuals, families, and their communities. “I’m passionate about the ability to advocate for people who are looked down upon and ignored for being unstable. I am also an advocate for maintaining good mental health and well-being. I believe it is the foundation that allows us all to be the best person that we can be. The ability to work in a “family” environment where everybody is there for each other, and the challenges faced, helps me to grow both professionally and personally. Most of all having the ability to witness the progress people make from the time they enter the Recovery Center to the time they discharge. “

I am a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor who developed a passion for helping others while serving as a peer counselor for the first responder populations of our communities. I am trauma-informed and integrate evidence-based modalities which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based
approaches in my work with clients. My goal for our first session is to establish a safe and comfortable space to get to know each other. The first session is also a time for
us to identify your counseling goals, which will be used to develop a personalized, client-centered approach that best fits your needs and expectations.

Business Office Manager
Blier Smith graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Management. He was born and raised in Virginia and has a passion for behavioral health. As the business office manager of Iron Bridge Recovery Center, he works to support the financial goals of the program and works to support the overall financial health of the facility. Kirby Gundlach graduated from Liberty University in 2021 with a Master’s degree in Development and Child Psychology. In her role as Director of Admissions for Iron Bridge Recovery Center, she oversees the admissions process for the facility. She previously worked as the Director of Admissions for Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents. She was also an admissions coordinator for The Coleman Institute for Addiction Medicine. Charles Robinson serves as the Director of Dietary Services at Iron Bridge Recovery Center. He oversees the dietary services provided to all patients and collaborates with the facility’s registered dietician to support the patient’s nutritional health.

Alumni Coordinator
Ross Attkisson is the Alumni Coordinator at Iron Bridge Recovery Center. He is a Certified Recovery Specialist and a Certified Allied Addiction Practitioner who has worked in treatment programs since 2018. His personal experience with addiction and recovery fuels his passion for helping others seeking recovery. His journey has taken him from all over the country and he is extremely excited to return home to Virginia. “I have worked with some of the top facilities in the recovery field and I am so grateful to continue doing so at Iron Bridge Recovery Center,” said Ross. “Recovery is much more than putting down the substance or behavior, it’s a new and better way of life.” Ross started at Iron Bridge on November 27, 2023, just after the facility opened. Ross provides a critical component to Iron Bridge by developing and implementing programs, projects, and events to engage Alumni. He oversees the organization of special events and meetings for our Alumni to support their ongoing recovery after discharge.
